Privacy Policy
Life in UK Practice · Last updated: 8 October 2026
This policy explains how the Life in UK Practice iOS app ("the app"), called "Practice: Life in UK Test" (followed by the year) on the App Store, handles your information. In short, the app does not collect any personal data.
Who we are
The app is published by Calvin Holloway, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. Postal address: 128 City Road, London EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom. Contact: support@steadylamp.com.
Information we collect
None. The app has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it doesn't send your information to us or to anyone else.
If you choose to email us, for example with "Report a problem" under a question, your email app sends us your message, your email address and the details it shows (such as the question's ID and the app and iOS versions). We use them only to reply and to fix the question, on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering you and correcting the app (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)), and we don't share them with anyone else. Our email is hosted by Apple (iCloud Mail), which handles it only on our behalf and may store it outside the UK under the UK's data protection safeguards for international transfers.
Information stored on your device
To work, the app saves the following only on your device:
- your answers, study progress, saved questions and mock test results;
- your settings, such as your test date, reminder time and haptics preference;
- whether you have Full Access.
This data never leaves your device, apart from being included in your own iCloud or computer backups if you use them. Settings → Reset all progress in the app clears your answers, progress, saved questions and test results (your test date and settings stay). Deleting the app removes all of it.
Purchases and subscriptions
In-app purchases and subscriptions, including renewals, cancellations and refunds, are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. Neither the app nor we receive your payment details, and we don't receive your name or Apple Account information. Apple's handling of this data is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Notifications
If you turn on daily reminders, the app schedules them locally on your device. No push notification service is used and no data is sent anywhere.
Children
The app is a general study aid and doesn't knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Your rights
If you email us, we keep the conversation for up to 12 months after it ends and then delete it. You can ask us to see, correct or delete what we hold, or object to or restrict how we use it, by emailing us. Everything else stays on your device, under your control. If you have any questions, contact us at the address above. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the "last updated" date above. If we ever start collecting data, we'll update the policy and the app's App Store privacy details before doing so.
